RN Magellan is a bunkering tanker of a new generation. Its double hull meets the reinforced ice class, which makes it possible to operate without icebreaking passing in certain conditions. With an LOA of 99 meters, the vessel has eight separate tanks, which makes it possible to one-time transport various types of petroleum products with a total weight of up to 5 thousand tons.
The tanker is equipped with the latest navigation and safety systems that meet the strict standards in this area. This vessel significantly increases the region's reliability and environmental standards of bunkering.
The tanker was commissioned in October 2010.

Initially, the tanker was used for the transportation and bunkering of fuel in the White and Barents Seas. In 2017, the tanker «RN Magellan» began working in the port of St. Petersburg and other ports of the Baltic Sea. The work of the bunker operator «RN Magellan» in the ports of St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and Ust-Luga contributes to the expansion and strengthening of the JSC Rosneft in the region.
During the dock repair of the tanker «RN Magellan» in 2017 in Kaliningrad, the listed below coating systems of the company AKRUS® were used: ice-resistant coating AKRUS® Strong, anticorrosive coatings AKRUS® Epoks С, AKRUS® Praym, AKRUS® Long, polyurethane finish coating AKRUS® Poliur.
AKRUS® coatings are recommended for ships working in ice and aggressive marine environments.
