The project will be run following the agreement signed by the Group of Companies (GC) «Caspian Energy» (part of United Shipbuilding Corporation), Volgotrans LLC, and Goznak - leasing JSC (MASHPROMLEASING JSC). - Task: Supply of coatings of the AKRUS® trademark for the construction of the chemical tanker PortNews
The lead vessel of the 00216M project, the PortNews chemical tanker, was developed by the Vympel design bureau specifically for Volgotrans LLC. It differs from its counterpart, the chemical tanker RST27, in its higher efficiency and complexity of equipment.
The vessel 00216M (river-sea) is created for transporting petroleum and petroleum products (without the restriction of steams and molasses) and for a wide range of bulk cargo – harmful liquid substances. In one voyage, the vessel can carry three types of cargo.
These requirements assume the highest quality of all construction work, both welding and installation of special equipment, systems and pumps.
Main features of the 00216М project:
- LOA - 141,0 m;
- Beam - 16,7 m;
- High - 6,0 m;
- Deadweight in fresh water with draft 3,60 m - near 5350 tons;
- Deadweight in fresh water with draft 4,6 m (up to the summer cargo waterline) - near 7900 tons;
- Autonomy – 15 days;
- Speed - near 10 knots;
- Crew/number of seats - 12/13 persons.
The vessel is named after the information and analytical agency «PortNews», an industry media in sea and river transport.
The start of construction of two chemical tankers of the 00216M project took place at the Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association of the Southern Center Shipbuilding and Ship Repair (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) on September 4, 2018.
On August 26, 2020, a solemn launching ceremony took place. After launching, the chemical tanker will be completed on the water and undergo mooring and sea trials. It is planned that in November, the vessel will be handed over to the customer.
During the construction work, the following systems of the AKRUS® trademark were used:
- Underwater part with the use of anticorrosive primer coatings of the series AKRUS® Epoks С and antifouling coatings AKRUS® 042М;
- Surface surfaces (freeboard, bulwarks, decks, superstructure, etc.) with the use of anticorrosive primer coatings of the series AKRUS® Epoks С and finishing polyurethane coatings AKRUS® Poliur of a various colors;
- Fresh water tanks were painted with a special coating that is safe for the human, AKRUS® Long Akva.
