Supply of materials for the Arctic ship «Yamal Irbis»

Coatings of the AKRUS^® trademark were used during the repair of the Yamal Irbis shipyard at the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard in Arkhangelsk in July 2016. The Yamal Irbis constantly and year—round operates on the line: the port of Arkhangelsk - the port of Sabetta (Yamal Peninsula, Ob Bay).

According to the bid results in June 2016, AKRUS^® marine coatings of the Russian company AKZ Coatings LLC were selected.

By the time of the technical inspection organized from 03.03.2017 to 06.03.2017 in the port of Arkhangelsk, the Yamal Irbis made several flights in the Arctic between the ports of Arkhangelsk and Sabetta, then passed through the entire Northern Sea Route from the Ob bay to the Bering Strait and followed the cargo to China. After loading, the vessel passed through the Indian Ocean, the Suez Canal, and rounded Europe, Scandinavia, and Novaya Zemlya. Then, from Cape Zhelaniya, the Yamal Irbis motor ship passed through the Kara Sea under the ice wiring of Rosatomflot and delivered the cargo to the port of Sabetta.

On 26.02.2017, the ship returned to the port of Arkhangelsk, where it arrived on 03.03.2017. During the inspection in Arkhangelsk, it was recorded that the ice-resistant coating of Akrus-Strong was in excellent condition. The anti-corrosion coatings Akrus-Epoks C and polyurethane finish Akrus-Poliur, applied during the repair in 2016, also successfully passed the tests when working in the Arctic and tropical waters.

The LLC «AKZ coatings» 06.03.2017 organized a diving inspection of the bottom of the hull of the «Yamal Irbis» and examined the lower part of the vertical side of the vessel, the flat bottom, the rudder, the screw-steering complex, the aft telescope of the vessel, the bow of the left and right sides. The conclusion of the diving inspection: the condition of the AKRUS^® Strong coatings is good. There are no differences between the surface part of the vertical side of the bottom and the visible part after unloading.
