AKRUS® FM (basalt foil material in the fire protection system)
The system of structural fire protection comprises a rolled basalt foil material, designated ‘AKRUS® BFM’, which is mounted on an adhesive composition, designated ‘AKRUS® K’. The AKRUS® BFM is a web of mineral (basalt) fibre without a binder, stitched by a knitting and stitching method, with a one-sided lining of aluminium foil. AKRUS® K is a suspension of fillers in an inorganic binder.

Suggested area of applicationAKRUS® FM is used as a structural flame retardant coating that increases the fire resistance of steel structures used in all types of buildings and structures for civil and industrial purposes. It is used in closed heated and unheated rooms, with relative humidity up to 80-90%. It has high thermal insulation properties and does not crack or peel off from the surface of the protected structure under the influence of fire. During operation, it withstands vibrations and small deformations.
